Coughing

Asked for Female, 23 years

My daughter is having severe coughing since 3 days. I have been giving her ACEFYL Syrup 3 times a day. And yesterday I started giving her Augmentin syrup. But still there's no relief in her coughing. Her doctor is out of Lahore. What should I do?

Dear Patient,

Antibiotics can and only be given in high fever/when the infection is for more than 7-10dys and not improving.
You can give her syrup Zyrtec instead of acefyl. If the coughs are regular then you can do a ten-day course of Myteka sachet, one sachet daily at night.
Since you have started augmentin, continue it for a total 3 or 5days then stop.
You can meet with any one of the following doctors if yours isn't available.
