Ear Blockage on Flight

I have to travel with my 4 month old baby soon via airplane, I am worried about ear blockage issue which occurs on the flight. She is already having congestion and scratches her ears often. What should I do to avoid Ear blockage on a flight? Can I put cotton in her ears before taking off? Or what should I do if it happens?

Dear Patient,

Firstly please get her ears seen by a child specialist. A child with an ear infection would be a nightmare during travel.
Secondly, try nursing/feeding the child to take off and landing. This would help prevent ear blockage. The cotton may not help as ear blockage is due to pressure changes.
