Finger Swelled Up

My father in law's middle finger got squeezed between 2 stones while gardening. It turned blue and now swelled up. Plz, recommend where to go and what to do. P.S he z diabatic and on insulin with controlled blood sugar levels

How long ago did this happen? It is due to a bruise in the nail bed. Please ice it regularly and massage all around it with iodex using gentle but firm pressure and in a circular motion. If the Colour doesn't begin to change in a week then kindly show a medical specialist.
The bruising may also be present if he is taking any blood thinners at the moment.
