Hyperthyroidism

My 10 year old daughter is diagnosed with hypothyroidism, right now she is taking 25 mg levothyroxin and blood test shows normal Tsh and T4 but she most of the time complain about leg cramps and stomachaches, is it possibly because of hypothyroidism or she might have some other reasons?

Dear Patient,

Kindly do regular follow-ups, take the medication and do your tests as advised. Do not skip or discontinue medicines without your doctor's advice. For the cramps and aches, I would recommend you to test her vitamin D levels and serum calcium levels and write to us with photos of the report so we can guide accordingly. Also, increase her water intake to 12-14 glasses/day.
It is likely that her thyroid problem is causing these symptoms but we should rule out the possibility of low vitamin D.
