It is my first pregnancy and I am 36 weeks pregnant. Yesterday, I had an abdominal pain. I visited my gyne. She said your cervix is not open yet so I should wait for the natural pains. If cervix is not open at this stage, so the does the case end up in c sec or there is some chances for normal delivery?

Dear Patient,

Congratulations on your pregnancy. You have ample time, your 9th month has just started. Your cervix will open in due time. It can even begin to open a few hours before delivery. The case is completely normal and doesn't need c-section.
If the cervix doesn't open naturally, a process called “induction' is performed which helps stimulate the cervix to open. Many other steps are conducted before surgery is considered. So relax!
