Severe Fever and Cold

I am 35 yrs. having a fever from last 6 days. sometimes I feel so cold that I start shivering and when I cover myself properly the temperature goes up to 102 F and head becomes very hot. taking panadol n azomax on doc prescription. want to ask should I go for some tests or is it really just viral?

Dear Patient,

Fever is viral during the first week to ten days. It may become bacterial when it's for longer than this time period. When you take an antibiotic like azomax your test reports will not be accurate as you are already taking something to kill the harmful bacteria. A good time to do tests is BEFORE antibiotics.
You may consult with a general physician if you are having burning urine or worsening chest infection or fever is still high after using azomax for five days or more.
When fever is high considered taking a bath and cold sponging esp under your armpits to lower temperature.
