There two kinds of Eye specialists known as optometrist and ophthalmologist. Both are eye specialists however, ophthalmologists are also involved in surgical procedures while an optometrist is an eye doctor who examine both vision and health issue and try fixing refractive errors through prescribing eyeglasses and contact lenses while some provide vision care and vision therapy. They may also participate in pre or post surgery for care and wellness of the patient. They after completing medical school are required to complete a post graduation professional training in optometry school.
