Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah

Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics), Royal College of Surgeons of England Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, Head of A.O. Hospital, Karachi, Pak Infection & Complex Trauma Specialist Dr. Imran Ali Shah is a European trained Orthopaedic Surgeon. He undertook his BST (Basic Surgical Training) in London. His Postgraduate qualifications include MRCS degrees from the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in Edinburgh and Glasgow, Dip. SICOT from Sweden and FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics) from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. Dr. Shah’s late father established A.O. Hospital in the trauma-active city of Karachi in Pakistan in 1985. This inspired Dr. Shah’s career in Trauma and Orthopaedics, and he is currently running A.O. Hospital and continuing his father’s legacy. Dr. Shah’s areas of interest are: Complex Neglected Infected Nonunions/Malunions, Osteomyelitis, and he have completed a DePuy Fellowship in Primary and Revision Knee Arthroplasty at East Surrey Hospital, Surrey, UK. Dr. Shah is active in postgraduate teaching and has been invited from Pakistan to speak on various platforms worldwide. He also teaches on FRCS courses in the UK and medical students and orthopaedic registrars in Karachi, Pakistan. He has a vast contribution in charity & social work which includes promotion of sports and free treatment to the under privileged of Pakistan. Currently, Dr. Imran Shah holds the record of operating successfully on Pakistan oldest patient with a Hip fracture, the patient is now 110 years old and lives in Kohat. Dr. Imran Shah won by a landslide victory in the General Elections 2018 and is a serving MPA of PTI from North Nazimabad. His and in particular the Shah family’s philanthropic activities from patient welfare and free health camps to creation of 2 Hockey Stadiums and many cricket stadiums including the first Flood lit cricket Stadium of Sindh by the name of Asghar Ali Shah Cricket Stadium. Dr. Syed Imran Ali Shah’s mission is to carry on with the legacy his late father has left him with.
