How to use Cortiderm cream 0.50%?
- Apply a thin layer to the affected skin once or twice daily, or as the doctor directs
- Rub in gently until the cream disappears into the skin
- Wash hands after application unless the hands are the treated area
- Avoid covering treated skin with tight bandages unless the doctor advises it
- Limit continuous use to the duration the doctor has prescribed
Drug Interactions
- Other topical steroids: Using another steroid cream on the same area at the same time raises the risk of skin thinning.
- Other irritant skin products: Harsh soaps or exfoliants on the treated area can worsen irritation.
- Live vaccines: Prolonged high dose steroid use can reduce the body's response to live vaccines.
Risks and warnings
- Skin thinning: Prolonged use can thin the skin and cause visible stretch marks.
- Broken or infected skin: Should not be applied over open wounds or active skin infections.
