Nepafenac is a prodrug NSAID that converts to amfenac inside ocular tissue, where it blocks cyclooxygenase enzymes and lowers prostaglandin production. Clinical trials show nepafenac 0.1% effectively controls postoperative inflammation and lowers the incidence of cystoid macular edema when used as directed. How to use Nepanac Drops 0.1%?

• Shake the bottle well before each use
• Wash hands before applying the drops
• Instill one drop into the affected eye as directed by the doctor
• Typically used three times daily starting one day before surgery
• Continue for the full duration prescribed, usually up to two to four weeks after surgery
• Avoid touching the dropper tip to the eye or any other surface
• Wait at least five minutes before using any other eye drop

Drug Interactions

• Other topical NSAIDs: Concurrent use with other NSAID eye drops may increase the risk of corneal problems.
• Corticosteroid eye drops: Combined use is common in postoperative care but should be spaced apart and monitored by the doctor.
• Anticoagulants: Patients on blood thinners such as warfarin may have a higher risk of bleeding or delayed healing.
• Other topical eye medications: Wait at least five minutes between different eye drop products to avoid diluting their effect.
