How to use Nepopt / Eye Drop 0.1% 5ml?
- One drop in the operated eye three times a day, starting the day before surgery.
- The same schedule continues on the day of surgery and for the first two weeks of recovery, unless an eye doctor advises otherwise.
- A gentle shake of the bottle before each use keeps the medicine evenly mixed.
- Clean hands and a tilted head make application easier and reduce the risk of contamination.
Drug Interactions
- Other topical NSAID or steroid eye drops: Using these together can slow corneal healing after surgery.
- Oral anticoagulants such as warfarin: Combined use may raise the risk of bleeding in and around the eye.
- Other eye drops in general: A gap of about five minutes between different drops keeps each one working properly.
Risks and warnings
- NSAID sensitivity: Anyone with a known allergy to aspirin or other NSAIDs should avoid this eye drop.
- Bleeding tendency: Patients on blood thinners or with bleeding disorders need closer monitoring during use.
- Sun exposure: Extra caution in bright sunlight is advised since the eyes may become more sensitive to light.
- Contact lenses: Lenses should be removed before each dose and kept out until the eye has fully healed.
- Driving: Temporary blurred vision after application means driving should wait until sight is clear.
Side Effects
- Blurred vision for a short time after each dose.
- A stinging or foreign body sensation in the eye.
- Watery eyes or mild itching.
- Sensitivity to light.
- Rare but serious corneal problems with prolonged or excessive use, which need prompt medical review.
Storage Conditions
A cool spot below 25°C, away from direct light, keeps the drops stable. The bottle should be discarded four weeks after opening, and children should not have access to it.
