Back Pain Agony

Asked for Female, 29 years

I have pain in my lower back which appears about 1-2 times a year and usually goes away in 1-2 weeks. The pain is not triggered by anything. When this happens I am unable to walk, unable to stand up by myself, unable to sleep, and I experience agonising muscle spasms. I have seen various doctors and received 3 different diagnoses: sciatica, slipped disc, facet joint syndrome. I have been refused a scan as I am 'too young'. I am 25 and otherwise healthy. I live in fear of this happening again.

Dear Patient,

I'm sorry to hear that. Have you consulted a neurologist? Who has refused a scan if the pain is so agonizing?
If you can't get a CT scan then atleast get an X-ray. However in my opinion, if the pain is a lot then you should consider seeing a neurologist and getting a CT scan for accurate diagnosis and possible cure.

Meanwhile, read up on good back postures and maintain it well. Do basic back exercises like stretching and consider taking up swimming to strengthen back muscles.
