Does antipsychotic induced psychosis go

Asked for Male, 23 years

Does antipsychotic induced psychosis go away eventually? Ive got psychosis (dopamine supersensitivity) from olanzapine withdrawal and am currently on another antipsychotic (risperidone) because of it. Will my psychosis / my dopamine supersensitivity ever go away?

Dear Patient,

I'm so very sorry to hear that. As much as I would like to help you I'm not entirely sure of the answer, usually, drug-induced side effects do disappear in a few weeks of discontinuing medications but I cannot say about this medicine in particular. It would be best to ask your psychiatrist.
