High Creatinine

My 66 year old father suddenly got a high fever and in few days we discovered he has a urinary tract infection. He is a diabetic on insulin. He checked his creatinin levels this year and it was in the normal range. After admitting him to the hospital, his fever was gone and the doctor said he would go home in two days. His creatinine is increasing from 1 to 4 in 3 days. Same is the case with urea which is 125. The doctors are asking for temporary dialysis to be started immediately. Please guide

Is it possible for you to share photos of the actual reports with us, all of them? Creatinine and urea are cleared from the body by the kidneys. Their levels rising means the kidney is unable to do its job and needs help. Temporary dialysis is considered often above levels 5-7 however each case is different and doctors suggest accordingly. Dialysis may not be needed to repeat once kidney function improves iA. How is your father doing now?
