Jerks in Legs

I want to know the reason of feeling jerks in legs at night when you lay down to sleep and a very irritating feeling and pressure under the feet. Massage makes it better but I'm looking for the cause and permanent treatment as it really disturbs my sleep P.s, the patient of ulcerative colitis. Age 32. Currently on masacol tablets. The leg issue is becoming worse each day. Sometimes it feels my legs are lifeless with no energy.
