Stomach Ache

My son is 5 years old. He is always saying that he is too hungry even after 10 minutes of eating food. Getting very tall but not gaining weight. He eats very well Mashallah. He complains of stomach ache and has constipation. I am giving meds for constipation. So what should be the reason that he is always hungry and has a stomach ache?

Dear Patient,

I'm so sorry to hear that. When did you last deworm him? Give him 5ml of syrup zentel as a one time dose every six months. You may notice his appetite going down and stomachache improving after it.
Also, check his Hemoglobin levels or consult a pediatrician to make sure he's not anemic due to worms.
It's okay for a child to, however, eat more than usual (in normal amounts) but not gain weight as long as you feel they are healthy and active otherwise.
