My daughter is 15 years old. She is overweight and trying to reduce her weight. I am worried that she is reducing it in a poor way; Starving. I want to help her but she won’t listen to my advice. Any suggestion on how she can reduce weight in a healthy way?

Dear Patient,
She should avoid carbonated drinks, rice, and roti. She can take couscous, vegetables, and fruits with peel like cucumber etc. She should take a bowl of yogurt with her meals. She can avoid junk and fried foods. She must take lots of water as water helps remove fats and toxins from the body and keeps one fresh. She can take lean cuts of meat, chicken and fish steamed or cooked with around 1tsp oil. Fats and sugars must not be totally removed from the diet, small amounts of these foods are necessary. A nutritionist can help.
