Abnormal Sounds while exercise

Crunching sounds without pain from both knees at age 32 weight 53 while doing up and down exercise is, of course, abnormal what are the reasons?

Dear Patient,

I'm not sure as to what's causing this. Usually, a popping sound comes with knee locking issues, a crunching sound could be due to friction perhaps but if it's pain-free that's unlikely. Perhaps consider seeing an orthopedic for this? Is there any associated swelling or redness?
