Our digestive system breaks down the food we eat in a form that can easily be absorbed into the blood system and supplied to cells in our body to provide nourishment. Nearly 70% of the immune system of our body resides in the digestive tracts. If your digestive system is not working well, other health functions of the body can be affected. A lot of digestive systems?? Can  be prevented by eating a healthy diet. Similarly, a bad diet can lead to digestive problems. Here are some foods that are bad for the digestive system:

1- Fat-Free Foods:

Fat-free foods are often full of artificial preservatives and chemical and therefore they can be bad for your digestive health. Our bodies cannot handle artificial ingredients properly. When bad ingredients accumulate in the system, it leads to bloating and fatigue. A lot of low-fat foods also have a lot of sugar.

2- Unhealthy Fats:

You also need to steer clear of unhealthy fats such as trans fat, omega 6, and saturated fats. They can all lead to inflammation and also give you excess belly fat. Packaged foods usually contain trans fat. Processed and high-fat cuts of meat and candy contain saturated fats. Omega 6 fats are found in sunflower oil, safflower oil, grape seed oil, and soybean oil.

3- Artificial Sweeteners:

Even though you may feel that artificial sweeteners have fewer calories and don’t spike blood sugar levels, the truth is that your digestive system doesn’t like artificial sweeteners. Artificial sweeteners can increase inflammation in the body and may even cause gas, diarrhea, and bloating.

4- Processed Meats:

Processed meats are not only high in calories but also in saturated fats. Apart from being detrimental to the digestive health, processed meats also increase your susceptibility to stroke and heart diseases. Moreover, processed meat is very hard to digest. Our body finds it difficult to break down processed meat and that’s why it stays in the intestine for longer. Processed meats have no fiber which doesn’t make matters any easier. Cold cuts, ground meats, and hot dogs are all processed meats.

5- Foods High In Carb:

It is not recommended that you cut out carbs completely from your diet, but you must understand the difference between good and bad carbs. Carb-dense foods disturb the balance of the gut flora and are inflammatory.

6- Acidic Foods:

You must not a lot of acidic foods such as oranges, lemons, and tomatoes as this can lead to acid reflux. Moreover, these fruits should never be eaten on an empty stomach as this can irritate the stomach lining.

In order to avoid indigestion, you must have a healthy diet that has the right mix of fats, carbs, proteins, salts, vitamins, water, and fiber.
