Dr. Naheed Maher

Dr. Naheed Maher is a highly qualified and experienced Paediatrician with Special Interest in Paediatric Cardiology. After graduating from Dow University Karachi in 1997, and working for some time in Pakistan, she went to the England, United Kingdom to pursue a career in Paediatrics. As part of her Paediatric training, based mainly in Sheffield, she rotated in various hospital across South Yorkshire gaining experience in specialities like emergency medicine, intensive care, neonatology and community paediatrics along with other Paediatric sub-specialities. She obtained the Membership of Royal College of Paediatric and Child Health (MRCPCH) in 2013 and Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in 2017. She gained experience in Paediatric Cardiology in a very busy tertiary care cardiac centre at Leeds General Infirmary and achieved Speciality Interest Module (SPiN) accreditation in paediatric cardiology through Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health in 2016. She worked as a Consultant Paediatrician with expertise in paediatric cardiology at Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust in South Yorkshire until 2018 before moving back to Karachi, Pakistan. During this position, she set up a paediatric cardiology service for the hospital to streamline facility for children with Congenital Heart Defects (CHD)and other cardiac conditions. She obtained a fellowship of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (FRCPCH) in 2018. After returning back to Karachi, she initially worked at Dr Ziauddin University Hospital as assistant professor for 2 years and still continues to do private clinics there with a contractual right to admit patients. Currently along with working at British Medical practice, she is Assistant Professor in Paediatric at highly prestigious Dow University of Health Sciences.
