Recently, I was diagnosed with an intercostal strain. The symptoms are pain in the area of strain and swelling. I am coughing up blood coated mucus. My father who is a doctor says that it is not an emergency and that I should be fine. However, I am still concerned as he doesnt know i smoke. The amount of blood in the cough is not very much. But its painful to cough. I do have allergies and suffer from anxiety and depression and take Hiflexil 10mg, Zoloft 100 mg, Brufen 800 mg

I used to be a chain smoker for 10+ years till I suffered from bronchitis, four years ago. Since it got cured, I smoked cigarettes for two years, decreasing the amount of cigarettes and gradually stopped smoking. Recently, I have high blood pressure, increased heart rate, and I have shortness of breath. I started running 2 km daily. Why am I having all these symptoms?

I had mucus from the throat, and it had minor blood in it. I went to the ER, and the blood pressure was 190/110. The doctors said bleeding had to do with the blood pressure as the bleeding stopped as soon as blood pressure reducing pills were given orally. I had blood tests, PTT, ECG and echo tests and everything came out normal. Can high blood pressure be the reason for this bloody mucus from the throat? I am feeling very anxious about this.

I am having severe headaches for a few days now. I am currently taking Panadol extra for this headache. I was told that I have hypertension. My blood pressure is 168/98 mmHg, and pulse is 120 and steady. Please help.

My 66 year old father suddenly got a high fever and in few days we discovered he has a urinary tract infection. He is a diabetic on insulin. He checked his creatinin levels this year and it was in the normal range. After admitting him to the hospital, his fever was gone and the doctor said he would go home in two days. His creatinine is increasing from 1 to 4 in 3 days. Same is the case with urea which is 125. The doctors are asking for temporary dialysis to be started immediately. Please guide

My husband has type 1 diabetes. He has had no Insulin today but has had five hypoglycemia episodes today, and his sugar levels are dropping again. He had his regular food all day, drank juice and cans of coke. He has not done anything different to any other day and also has not been stressed either. He treated all attacks the way he normally would. What could be causing all these if he has not had any fast acting Insulin since last night?

My wife has been suffering from rheumatoid arthritis for more than 10 years. For the last two years, she has been taking infusions of Ristova. Last infusion was six months ago. I went to a new doctor today for leg swelling, joint pain and stomach aches. She asked me to do a series of lab tests. She told me that everything came back negative but a trace of old case of Lyme disease showed up but nothing to worry about. Then she carried on to give lecture on my weight and that I need to lose weight. I am 5'7' and 130kg . Have history of bipolar depression. I think joint pain and depression may have some relation with Lyme disease. Please suggest solution
